Sheryl Lee Ralph to Join the Cast of the Broadway-bound First Wives Club

Sheryl Lee Ralph (Dreamgirls, Thoroughly Modern Millie) will join the cast of the Broadway-bound First Wives Club in place of Adriane Lenox, who is departing the company “due to health concerns.”

The show, directed by Francesca Zambello (The Little Mermaid), is scheduled to run July 17-Aug 23 at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and includes a book by Rupert Holmes (Curtains, The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and a score by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland.

The rest of the cast includes Barbara Walsh (Company, Hairspray), Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains), John Dossett (Gypsy), Kevyn Morrow (Dreamgirls), Brad Oscar (The Producers), Sara Chase, Sam Harris (The Life), and Ari Lerner/Austyn Myers, Michelle Aravena, Mark Campbell, Thursday Farrar, Jenifer Foote, Bob Gaynor, Matthew LaBanca, Victoria Matlock, Kat Palardy, Martin Samuel and Richard Waits.

The location and dates for the Paul Lambert and Jonas Neilson produced Broadway transfer has yet to be announced.
