When Amy Spanger dropped out of Rock of Ages after the Tony Awards and did not return for the scheduled June 29th performance for “personal reasons,” the original understudy for the role, Savannah Wise (Les Misérables), stepped in until producers found a replacement.
But, as shows went on producers couldn’t find a better replacement: “It is that rare and fortunate instance in show business where it becomes necessary for the understudy to step into the role and she exceeds your wildest expectations.”
It really is every understudy’s dream come true. Savannah Wise is the official Sherrie, effective immediately.
