Rupert Holmes Joins Creative Team of Robin and the 7 Hoods

Rupert Holmes (Curtains, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), the writer for the Broadway-aimed musicals The First Wives Club and The Nutty Professor, has now joined the creative team of another musical on its way to the Great White Way, Robin and the 7 Hoods

Casey Nicholaw (The Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot) will direct and choreograph the musical, a “re-thinking of the classic 1964 Warner Brothers film of the same name [that] will shine a Broadway light on that sexy, swinging era, where the old culture meets the sexual revolution.”

The show will feature songs from Sammy Cahn & James Van Heusen like “My Kind of Town,” “Come Fly with Me,” “All The Way,” “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” and others.

Casting for the show, set to do an out-of-town tryout on the west coast in the summer of 2010, has yet to be announced.
