  1. Not only does musical theatre give me a place to escape every day life, but it gives me a place where I feel like I belong. That I’m not weird for not liking Sondheim but still love Assassins, that I can love certain actors but not the entire show, etc. Not to mention the much better performers (mostly) any current pop singer out there.

  2. The reason I love musical theatre is because there is nothing like singin and dancing and pouring your heart out on stage for the joy of an audience!! I am myself a musical theatre student. I have done numerous shows from Shakespeare to Jerry Herman and there’s nothing like doing a musical!! Even after the curtain has fallen audiences still leave the theatre singing and dancing their way to their homes!!

  3. Simple reason for loving musical theater: summer 2007, Spring Awakening. enough said. On a more holistic view, musical theater creates an opportunity and a space to explore stories, characters, and (most importantly) emotions from the human experience. What person doesn’t dream of a part of one’s life bursting out into song in the middle of whatever one is doing?

  4. Musical Theatre is the perfect combination of the three great performance arts – singing, acting, dancing. You add in the visual art from set, costumes and tech – what is not to love? The perfect artform…imho.

  5. Musical theatre is not a love, it is a passion. It gives me a chance to create someone new – someone who is both a different person and somehow a part of me.
