How to Enter

In honor of the upcoming Oscars (and the incredible 8 awards this film won at the 1972 Academy Awards), comment with who you think most deserving of an Oscar for their work on the film. Bob Fosse? Liza Minnelli? Joel Grey? Michael York? The cinematography? The art directors? The makeup designers? Should it have beat out The Godfather for Best Picture?

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

  1. Grey did a fantastic job of keeping the role fresh each time he performed. From Broadway to the film, he is the face that I remember when I first think of Cabaret

  2. I DO think that Joel AND Liza DID deserve getting those Oscars. I’m sorry Michael didn’t get a Oscar Nod. But Fosse DID a RAD job on his direction. And I think that CABARET SHOULD have won the Oscar for BEST PICTURE.

I think that Joel Grey’s performance was a standout in the film, and he gave so much levity, humor, style, and a great sense of timing. He could also really, really move.
