Awards Season 2020: The Tony Awards are Actually Happening!

The dangling Tony nominations from last year’s odd season are finally going to be announced.

The ceremony will be happening on September 26, but like many things COVID-related, it won’t quite be what we’re used to. Most of the awards will be broadcast via the streaming platform Paramount+ beginning at 7 p.m. ET, followed by a bigger CBS concert special called “Broadway’s Back!” beginning at 9 p.m. ET, featuring performances from the nominated Moulin Rouge!, Jagged Little Pill and Tina — The Tina Turner Musical and ending with the big prizes of the evening: Best Musical, Best Play and Best Revival of a Play.

However it happens, we here at BMH couldn’t be more excited for the nominees to get some closure, and to put this pandemic behind us…

  • The full list of nominees (as well as the other award nominees and winners from 2020) can be viewed here.
