AWARDS SEASON 2022: Drama League Award Winners

The Drama League Awards were presented today, and the prize for Outstanding Production of a Musical went to A Strange Loop. Company received the awards for both Outstanding Revival and Outstanding Direction of a Musical. And Broadway and Hollywood star extraordinaire Sutton Foster was given this year’s Distinguished Performance Award for her portrayal of Marion in The Music Man.

As previously announced, Foster’s counterpart in the show, Hugh Jackman, was given the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater, Billy Crystal the award for Contribution to the Theater and Willette Murphy Klausner, a producer for this season’s American Buffalo, for colored girls, Caroline, or Change, MJ: The Musical, the Gratitude Award.
