BroadwayCon 2018

We spent the past three days at the third annual BroadwayCon at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC! Running Friday, January 26th-Sunday, January 28th, BroadwayCon featured nearly 400 special guests, over 220 hours of original programming, and more than 90 BroadwayCon Marketplace vendors and exhibitors.

BroadwayCon is theatre’s answer to comic-con, tailor made for fans. Over the past weekend, Broadway’s biggest fans, performers, and creators from classic and current shows performed, discussed, debated, and celebrated theatre. BroadwayCon 2018 featured panels, performances, interviews, workshops, and sing-a-longs all packed into an epic three-day weekend.

We were thrilled to be in attendance for the third year in a row. Not only did we get to meet some of our favorite actors and directors, like Tina Landau of “Spongebob” and “Floyd Collins”, Joel Grey of “Cabaret” and “Chicago”, Bebe Neuwirth of “Chicago” and “Sweet Charity”, Max Crumm of “Disaster!” and “Grease”, Bill Berloni the Broadway dog trainer of Sandy, Bruiser, and Toto, and Broadway veteran Ben Cameron of “Broadway Sessions”, but we got to share this experience with the fans! We are still reeling from the excitement that BroadwayCon brought to everyone that ever thought they couldn’t fit in with the rest of the world. After this weekend, we know that our place is decidedly here, whether singing in the chorus in a small town in rural New Hampshire, belting it out center stage on the Great White Way, or sitting in the front row cheering for our favorites. We are all one big Broadway family.
